Hi, my name is Irene Walshe and I own and manage Gardens by Design.
I started the business in 1998 and have been enjoying transforming gardens in Wellington region for the last decade.
Over a decade in this business and still loving it!
Through transforming gardens, large and small, I have worked with many happy customers and helped them achieve a great environment on their property.
I enjoy seeing the looks on peoples' faces when they see their garden come to life, and come to understand how good design results in great spaces to enjoy with the added relief of low maintenance.
Making the most of the available space on your property
I will work with you to enhance what you have already or start from scratch with a completely new design. I love the challenge of having to think outside the box and come up with a great design for a particularly small or oddly shaped section.

Planning is important no matter the size or scope. If you can’t change things till later but are constantly battling with the current site I can draw up a simple management plan for now, that will work towards a future plan so your time and effort are not wasted.
For those ready for a change we can start the consultation process right away and produce concept plans, working drawings, specifications and documentation for implementation.
Work may include surveyors, engineers and Sub contractors play a large part in the total look - retaining walls, decks, fences, paths, patios.
You can leave it to me to arrange experienced, thorough sub-contractors or you can arrange your own if you want.
